24/7 Refill vending machines for residential buildings

Why Refill vending machines?

On average, the Final Waste Disposal Site (TPA) in Jakarta holds around 6,000 – 7,000 tons of garbage per day, exceeding well over the actual TPA capacity of 5,000 tons per day. The average mega block of apartments and shophouses in Jakarta produces 600 cubic metres of plastic waste on a daily basis.  That’s why our venture Qyos is on a mission to combat these overwhelming amounts of waste.

How Qyos reduces plastic waste in Indonesian households

Qyos is a user-friendly refill vending machine that provides daily necessities to customers with the convenience of being located directly in apartment buildings. The product dispensing system eliminates single-use packaging by providing reusable containers that can be rented and refilled with mass consumables, household items, and personal hygiene products, such as hand sanitizer, dishwashing detergent, and shampoo.

The cashless and touchless refill system uses RFID integrated packaging to turn each reusable bottle into a digital payment system. Much like a metro card enables cashless entry into metro systems, our smart packaging as a wallet enables cashless purchasing and personalized consumption data of FMCG products.

By eliminating single-use packaging, the Qyos solution lowers the price of daily need goods, helping consumers save money and reducing household waste by 50%. What’s more, eliminating waste at the source will significantly diminish waste-handling costs for property managers.

Impact

With this business model in place, Qyos aims to reduce the price of daily household items and eliminate single-use packaging in an effort to help customers save money and the planet.
